U.S. Rep. John Lewis

U.S. Rep. John Lewis helped pack meals with over 5,000 other volunteers at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. After giving a speech to volunteers, he met with media to give interviews. This is when I get to hunt for images. Surrounded by cameras, microphones and one light on him, I crawled around looking for the best angle with the best light.

SNOW - On Assignment for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Last time I saw snow like this in Georgia was the 1993 Blizzard.  The news said there might be a few inches in the Atlanta metro area.  In the end, we saw as much as 12 inches in parts of North Georgia.

There's nothing like having to hunt down images when on assignment.  I started the weekend in Marietta and ended on Saturday in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Very grateful to see the Atlanta Journal-Constitution ran a full page of my snow coverage in Sunday's paper.

Weather - On Assignment For AJC

I've recently been assigned to a lot of breaking news for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC).  On these specific assignments, I hit the road blindly.  I turn the radio on and listen for where the action is and then drive there.

On the first couple of images, I drove up Northside Parkway in Atlanta and looked for severe weather damage to photograph after several tornados hit the area.  I parked my car on the side of the road and began making my way through neighborhoods that were hit the hardest.

Martha Jane Jones, 88, was kind enough to invite me in her home and show damage that hit her neighbors house.

Here are some images from severe storm coverage and general weather coverage over the last week.

The National Weather Service says a tornado has touched down near Atlanta as heavy storms continue to sweep through parts of the southern region. Branden Camp for AJC
